Kim Mok, MH

Chief Executive and Founder, Hong Kong Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society

At the age of six, Kim Mok, MH, lost vision in his left eye and became fully blind at the age of 13 due to a retinal detachment. However, his visual impairment never deterred him from pursuing his goals. Mok went on to become the first blind person to take the HKCEE computer course and obtained a Bachelor's Degree with First Honours in Social Work from Baptist University.

Mok founded the Hong Kong Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society in 2011 to help conquer the “digital” divide, and promote the use of information technology among the disabled.  The charity organization has since grown and expanded its objective to facilitating the active participation of disabled persons in sports rehabilitation, education, as well as arts and culture. Their objective is to nurture a culture that promotes diversity, inclusiveness, and altruism.

Beyond his work at the charity, Mok also founded the Fearless Dragons running club in 2010, which is a one of a kind running club that features both disabled and able-bodied athletes. He is a former Executive Member of World Blind Union Asian Pacific Region and a Founding Member and former Board Director of the Hong Kong Blind Sports association, just to name a few. He was awarded the Medal of Honour by HKSAR Government in 2011 and currently serves as a member of the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee of the HKSAR.
